Six Alaska skiers have been named to the U.S. Team for the 2025 Cross Country World Championships in Trondheim, Norway, from Feb. 27 to March 9.
Headlining the team is Olympian Rosie Brennan, who is a member of the APU Elite Team and a five-time competitor at the World Championships.
UAF skier Kendall Kramer, a member of APU’s summer training group, will be on the women’s team as well.
They’re joined by four other APU team members on the men’s squad.
Jessie Diggins, Julia Kern, Sophia Laukli, Alayna Sonnesyn and Kate Oldham will round out the women’s team for the World Championships. Like Kramer, Oldham trained with APU over the summer.
Both Kramer and Oldham earned titles at the U.S. National Championships in Anchorage last month.
On the men’s side, the team is packed with APU skiers.
Gus Schumacher, JC Schoonmaker, Zanden McMullen and Luke Jager were all named members of the team.
Jager was also crowned a national champion last month in Anchorage.
Rounding out the men’s team are John Steel Hagenbuch, Ben Ogden, Zak Ketterson and Jack Young.
The World Championships include four individual races — a 20K skiathlon, 10K classic, 50K skate and a skate sprint. It also includes two team events: the team sprint and 4x7.5K relay. The World Championships are a biennial event held on odd years.
