It was morbidly comforting to hear U.S. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, the highest elected Republican official in the country, describe on video that he uses “Covenant Eyes,” an installed software that electronically monitors his pornography urges by sending a weekly “accountability report” to a third party. It came to mind what a great mentor-monitor Speaker Johnson could be to our Republican nominee for president.
I’m not sure if there is an anti-sexual assault software option available, or a porn-star-proximity alert (Code Orange). But we can hope Covenant Eyes has a robust 2.0 version available when the faithful need it the most. If this technology could fit in an ankle bracelet, real progress could be just around the corner.
