Letters to the Editor

Letter: Bipartisanship

It’s a breath of fresh air to read that working across the aisle yields tangible results — in this case more than $200 million in federal funding for a sorely needed expansion of the Railbelt electrical grid (Alaska Beacon via ADN, Nov. 12). The project will increase the reliability of the state’s largest power system and help connect hydro, wind and other renewable sources to markets.

Kudos to state energy office Alaska Energy Authority for winning this grant. And thanks to President Joe Biden for conceiving the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Sen. Lisa Murkowski for negotiating with the administration to pass it.
