An Anchorage man suspected of killing a man and seriously injuring another in separate shootings last weekend has been arrested, police said.

Dashawn Street, 25, was charged with first- and second- degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, and first-degree assault, the Anchorage Police Department said in an alert.

The two shootings, one in Mountain View and the other in South Anchorage, left one man dead and another with life-threatening injuries.

Police say that around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a victim was shot multiple times in the lower body as he walked near a food truck in the 8800 block of the Old Seward Highway. Street walked to a vehicle and drove off. The victim ran back to his car, where a woman passenger drove him to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

A little over an hour later, at 4:50 a.m., Street shot another man in the hallway of an apartment complex on the 100 block of Price Street, police said. The victim, who has since been identified as 24-year-old Fa'avea Seau, died of a gunshot wound to the upper body. Street again left the scene in a vehicle, police said.

On Friday morning, around 11:30 a.m., police found Street in a home on the 1400 block of Medfra Street. He tried to flee in a vehicle, ramming several police vehicles while trying to escape.

Street was arrested. No officers were hurt, police said.
