Navy and Coast Guard veteran Scott Hulse stood next to his 1958 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud he had on display Monday during the Anchorage Corvette Association Memorial Day Car Show.
“It has a straight-six engine, real close to 5 liters, lots of torque, never win a race,” said Hulse. “It’s a touring car. They’re a pleasure to drive. We have driven to Kantishna a couple times, and Fairbanks.”
Dozens of vehicles, from a WWII Jeep to a 2024 Corvette, were on display for the first time at the Colonel Mary Louise Rasmuson Campus of the Alaska VA Healthcare System in Muldoon.
“All of the proceeds from the event go to the Armed Services YMCA on Elmendorf, the food pantry, and Honor Flight,” said Anchorage Corvette Association president Larry Gross. “It brings veterans and civilians together and we all have a love for vehicles whether older or newer, or trucks or cars. It gives people a chance to see what’s here in the locality, a lot of these cars you wouldn’t know were even around.”

This article has been edited to correct the model name of Scott Hulse’s Rolls Royce. It is a Silver Cloud, not a Silver Shadow.
