Motorcyclist dies after collision on Lake Otis Parkway

A 34-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday after a Friday collision on Lake Otis Parkway, Anchorage police said.

Mark Mina was southbound on a BMW motorcycle around 6:40 p.m. Friday when he struck an eastbound Chevy Spark that was turning left from 56th Avenue onto northbound Lake Otis, police said.

Mina died from his injuries in a hospital Saturday, police said.

The driver of the Chevy was evaluated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries, according to police.

The road was closed for several hours Friday night near the scene. Police said the investigation was ongoing and charges were not filed on Friday.
